Very interesting piece. I am happy to hear that Chinese programs are growing, but the rest of the piece is disheartening. I have been blessed by receiving a strong education in Spanish and it fundamentally altered my life’s trajectory.
Stand up for languages in schools. In the modern world, kids without access to foreign languages get left behind.

I’m back in Baltimore. My flight home was a complete mess, but the one back was smooth by comparison.
